MANILA: Suzuki Auto Philippines revealed its first electrified model — the Ertiga Hybrid — at the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). The hybrid, seven-seater MPV makes its local debut following its world debut last April and its Asean arrival last June.

The 2022 Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is powered by Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid technology, which is composed of a 1.5-liter K15B engine, a 12-volt lithium-ion battery, and an integrated starter generator (ISG).

In the carmaker’s Smart Hybrid Technology, the ISG and 12V battery work together. The system charges the battery with the electricity generated by deceleration energy. It also stops unnecessary power consumption when the vehicle is running at cruising speed.

By providing power assist to the 1.5-liter gas engine, the Suzuki Smart Hybrid reduces engine load when the car is driven in traffic situations that affect fuel consumption, such as standing starts and hard acceleration.

To save even more fuel by preventing engine idling, the Ertiga Hybrid’s Smart Hybrid system also switches off the engine when the car slows down to a halt and when it is stopped. When pace is needed again, the ISG restarts the engine in a quiet manner, Suzuki said.

As previously reported — and as we saw during the PIMS 2022 — the 2022 Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is made unique by a new grille, new alloy wheels, and new back door garnish with a chrome insert.

Automatic headlights with Guide Me Light functions, fog lamps, LED high mount stop lamp, and LED rear combination lamps with light guide differentiate the model even further. It could come in seven exterior color options: Brave Khaki, Silky Silver, Burgundy Red, Mellow Deep Red, Cool Black, Pearl Snow White, and Metallic Magma Gray.

In Indonesia, the 2022 Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid’s pricing starts from IDR 270.3 million (approximately P1.022 million) to IDR 281.3 million (approximately P1.063 million).

You will read it here first when Suzuki Auto Philippines reveals the full pricing and specs of the Ertiga Hybrid.
